Matilda is a young creative based in Boorloo (Perth), currently in their second year of Classical Music study at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Majoring in oboe performance.
Matilda also has over a decade of experience as a flautist, and most recently played oboe, flute and cor anglais in WAAPA's production of Legally Blonde: the Musical.When they're not playing, they can be found, crocheting, knitting, drawing, reading or horse riding.

Matilda Beel del Alamo is an emerging Spanish-Australian artist, musician, and performer based in Boorloo (Perth). They are currently in their second year of a Bachelor of Music degree at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Majoring in Classical Performance on the oboe, as well as playing the cor anglais, flute, saxophone and clarinetMatilda is now a member of multiple WAAPA ensembles, including the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr Philip Everall, the HearNOW ensemble, directed by Lindsay Vickery, and the WAAPA Symphony Orchestra, led by world-renowned conductor, Jessica Gethin.Most recently, Matilda performed in their first musical; Legally Blonde, where they played reed 1 oboe, flute and cor anglais.Since before they can remember, Matilda always wanted to play the flute, and their dreams came true at the age of eight, when they were offered one of the limited spots in the Mt Hawthorn Primary School music program. At nine, they joined their first concert band; the Mt Hawthorn Area Band, and performed in multiple ABODA Festivals and Band tours to the local primary Schools.In 2017, Matilda successfully auditioned for the Mt Lawley's music program, lead by Michelle deRozario.Matilda showed great potential early on, and was promoted to Mt Lawley's top concert band within their first semester at the school. In 2022 Matilda was elected Music Captain, and throughout high school they developed their leadership skills by volunteering their time to be a peer mentor in the younger concert bands. In their time at Mt Lawley, Matilda performed as principal flute in close to 50 concerts, performed in multiple ABODA Festivals, and did ATAR Western Art Music.Matilda has been taught by various talented musicians, such as Jonathan Ryan, the principal cor anglais player of the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, Dr Philip Everall, Head of Woodwind at WAAPA, and Jessica Gethin, Head of Orchestral Studies at WAAPA.Matilda is passionate about exploring a broad range of musical styles, genres, and instruments, and are growing a diverse and multi-faceted career. They are interested in pursuing a career as a member of an orchestra, and they are incredibly interested music production for movie soundtracks, live classical performances, and musical orchestras.When they're not playing, Matilda can be found expressing their creativity in a variety of ways, including drawing, painting, graphic design, crochet and knitting.Matilda is also greatly passionate about making a positive impact in their community, and volunteers regularly with Headspace, Propel Youth Arts WA, Zero2Hero, Scribbler's Festival, Teach Learn Grow, and the Mt Lawley SHS Bush Ranger Cadets Unit. These organisations each support one or more of Matilda's values; creativity & art, environmental conservation, suicide prevention, and the support of teen mental health.

Instrumental lessons for beginner or intermediate players on either flute or oboe. Some books and music may be provided, but student will have to provide their own instrument.Music theory tutoring ages 9+
Music theory lessons for beginner or intermediate musicians. Tutoring for school students in aural and theory, and some history if desired.Rates

I absolutely love expressing my creativity in a multitude of ways, including through music, crochet, knitting, and painting & drawing.
